THE PRICE OF PETROL HAS INCREASED BY 28.35% TO AN HIGHER PRICE of N770.54 per litre.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has released its petrol price for July 2024.

It reveals a significant year-on-year increase in the national average retail price of petrol. For instance, the price rose by 28.35% to N770.54 per litre in July 2024 compared to N600.35 per litre in 2023.
Also, there was a month-on-month increase of 2.72% from N750.17 in June 2024.

A state-by-state analysis shows differences in petrol prices. Katsina State records the highest average retail price at N950.00 per litre, followed by Jigawa State at N903.08 and Benue State at N846.95.
The lowest average prices were found in Kwara State (N650.00), Edo State (N669.75), and Akwa Ibom State (N673.75).

From regions, the North-West Zone had the highest average petrol price at N820.10 per litre while the South-South Zone had the lowest average price, at N678.30 per litre.
