The University of Ibadan Alumni Association, Lagos Branch, has a new leadership team.
The election took place on December 21, 2025, at the Lagos Civil Service Club, GRA, Ikeja.
According to a statement issued by Mr. Wale Fatade, the Association’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Michael Popoola Ajayi, a 1992 UI graduate is the new Chairman. He has served as Secretary and Vice Chairman, and now leads the pioneer alumni association in Lagos.
The new Executive Council Members Include:
1. Chairman – Mr. Popoola Ajayi (Pop).
2. 1st Vice Chairman: Mr. Biodun Bello.
3. 2nd Vice Chairman: Alayande Stephen T.
4. 3rd Vice Chairman: Mrs. Olabisi Gregory.
5. General Secretary: Mr. Oloruntobi Austin.
6. Ist Asst. Sec – Engr. Abdulrasaq Yusuf.
7. 2nd Assist Sec – Engr. Muyiwa Tijani.
8. Treasurer: Mr. Noah Osifeso.
9. PRO – Mr Wale Fatade.
10. Asst. PRO – Mr. Abiodun Alao.
11. Financial Secretary: Mr. Kunle Durojaiye.
12. Social & Welfare Sec – Mr. Stanley Dumkwu.

In his speech, the Chairman, Comrade Michael Popoola Ajayi, thanked members for their trust and vowed to serve, and give back to Nigeria’s Premier University.
He called on alumni to get involved and help take the Lagos Branch to new heights.
