150 Youths Benefit From Vocation Empowerment In Osun

No fewer than 150 youths has benefited from vocation and empowerment programme organized by Osun State Government in collaboration with Industrial Training Fund (ITF).

The empowerment, which was year 2023 ITF Skill Intervention Programme, held at Osogbo Grammar School, was aimed for youths across the state to be self sufficient and self reliance.

Speaking at the event, Mr Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Govetnment, urged the beneficiaries to be productive and make good use of the equipments given to them after training.

Igbalaye, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of Bureau of Cabinet, Special Services and office of the SSG, Mr Olusoji Wojuade, also called on youths in the state to enroll for vocational courses instead of waiting for white-collar jobs.

In his remarks, the Director General/Chief Executive Industrial Trust Fund, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, represented by Director ITF Ibadan Zonal, Mr Oluwole, stated that Industrial Trust Fund was established solely for the purpose of human capital development, empowerment and Industrial Training Fund.

The ITF Boss appreciated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke for the support received towards the success of the programme.

He stressed further: “As an Institution, our commitment to skills acquisition is based on the fact that it is the most sustainable solution to combatting unemployment, reducing poverty and youth restiveness in the country”.

The beneficiaries were further advised by other speakers to be creative and innovative in their vocation so they could stand out.
