Nigerian musician, 2Face Idibia, is optimistic about Afrobeats’ future, dismissing concerns that it would lose global popularity.
In an interview with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos, the musician credited Nigeria’s young talent pool for the genre’s sustainability, calling them its lifeblood.
He said, “Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands. Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crops of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”
