Modibbo Adama University Yola has started refunding institutional fees to students who received the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) disbursements.
The university’s Information Officer, Muhammad Nur Isma’il, clarified that around 300 students were affected by refund delays due to account detail inconsistencies, which required physical verification.
He said, “The delay from both batches (Batch A and B) were about 300 students, and refund is ongoing. It was delayed due to some inconsistencies noted with account details on the process, which resulted in calling for physical verification.”
For students who have graduated and cannot return for physical verification, the university offers an alternative. He said, “For those that have graduated, they can send in their details with a statement of result indicating they have actually graduated for their refund to be processed.”
