The MTN Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2025 scholarship program, which aims to promote excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
This initiative is part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, with a particular focus on supporting blind students across Nigeria.
The 2025 program features three distinct categories:
1. Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS): Open to 300-level Science and Technology students with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5.
2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS): Supports blind students in their 200-level studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
3. Top 10 UTME Scholarship: The top 10 candidates from the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as determined by JAMB, are automatically eligible for this prestigious award.
Over the past 15 years, the MTN Foundation has invested over NGN 3 billion in education, awarding a total of 14,728 scholarships. These initiatives have equipped beneficiaries with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s job market.
Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, highlighted the program’s significance. She said, “Education is the backbone of national development. We are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder talented individuals from reaching their full potential. This scholarship goes beyond just funding. It represents a vital investment in Nigeria’s future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.”
Scholars will receive an annual stipend of NGN 300,000 for three consecutive years, provided they maintain the required academic standards. Additionally, they will benefit from mentorship, internship opportunities, and digital certifications, enriching their educational experience. The application process is straightforward and conducted entirely online, making it accessible to students nationwide.
