Nigerian singer Omah Lay, revealed a shocking experience with a fellow artist who allegedly plagiarized his concept for an upcoming album.
During an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Omah Lay shared that he had confided in the unnamed artist about his vision for a new sound, with the intention of collaborating.
The artist surprisingly released an album incorporating the exact same concept, forcing Omah Lay to re-record his entire album.
Omah Lay expressed his disappointment, stating that he had shared his idea in good faith, only to be betrayed.
He mentioned that his song “Holy Ghost” showcases the new sound he had envisioned but the incident led him to change his entire album.
With determination, Omah Lay declared that his reworked album will be the greatest in Afrobeats history, surpassing his initial vision.
