Nigerian media and entertainment company, That Good Media, has unveiled its Motion Pictures Division and the inaugural “That Good Media International Film Festival.”
This move shows the company’s dedication to showcasing African stories, bridging the gap between local talent and global audiences and fostering cross-cultural collaboration in filmmaking.
The Motion Pictures Division will produce high-quality films, documentaries and TV series that showcase authentic African narratives and the International Film Festival will highlight diverse voices, celebrate emerging talent and establish Africa as a key player in global film culture.
According to Toyosi Etim-Effiong, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, “African storytelling tradition is one of the richest in the world, yet it has often been underrepresented in global cinema. With our Motion Pictures Division and Film Festival, we’re building a global movement, starting with Nigeria first.”
She also said, “This is about driving Nigeria’s creative economy forward, giving our stories the global platforms they deserve, and shaping the narrative for generations to come.”
The launch is seen as a strategic move to align Nigeria’s creative industry with international markets. It is expected to create jobs, nurture talent and build sustainable partnerships across borders, further solidifying Africa’s position as a place for creativity and shaping the future of global cinema.
