ALX Africa, a career and entrepreneurship accelerator, recently hosted a masterclass focused on product management, aimed at equipping its members with the skills to develop innovative products. The session, designed for participants in the ALX Founders Academy, provided practical insights on how to take entrepreneurial ideas from concept to market.
Led by Chidi Afulezi, founder and Managing Principal of redKola Digital Labs, the masterclass emphasized the importance of understanding and validating problems before developing solutions. Chidi stressed that entrepreneurs should immerse themselves in discovering customer needs and building products that are not only viable but also add value to the market.

“Entrepreneurs need to fall in love with the problem they are solving. The journey is all about discovering the right problems, finding the right customers, and creating solutions that are feasible and valuable,” Chidi noted during the session.
The ALX Founders Academy aims to guide aspiring African entrepreneurs through every step of business creation. With regular live masterclasses from successful founders, participants gain practical knowledge and build a strong network with peers.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Ruby Igwe, Country General Manager of ALX Nigeria, explained, “Our mission is to empower our learners with the best tools and knowledge to create impactful products that will shape Africa’s future economy.”
ALX’s commitment to nurturing talent has already seen successful ventures emerge, including startups like Aquatrack, Luna, and Healthtracka, a digital health platform that raised $1.5 million in 2022.
Through sessions like this masterclass, ALX Africa continues to play a pivotal role in fostering the next generation of African entrepreneurs, pushing forward innovation across the continent.
