Nigerian comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has downplayed the concept of competition in the comedy industry.

In a recent interview on Hip TV’s “Trending,” Seyi Law expressed his gratitude towards veteran comedians Alibaba, Julius Agwu, Basketmouth, and AY, who he considers benefactors.

Seyi Law stated that as a Yoruba person, he cannot compete with those who have supported him. He also said he doesn’t care about the ranking on comedians.
“At some point in the comedy industry, there was no rift and there wasn’t any reason to start categorising the comedians,” he said.

He recalled his experience with industry icons:“I have played with everybody and I still respect everybody. We respect the likes of Alibaba. At some point, I had to go on a comedy tour with Julius Agwu who didn’t discriminate against me. I’ve covered events for Basketmouth. He has paid me for shows. I’ve also worked with AY.

Seyi Law prioritizes unity over competition: “As long as we’re all doing well, that’s what matters. Let’s not let the industry suffer.”

Seyi law’s message is clear: mutual respect and gratitude supersede competition in the comedy world.
