As Nigeria prepares for the landmark rollout of the Digital Switch Over (DSO) come June 17th, 2026, the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has expressed its profound appreciation to the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr. Charles Ebuebu, for his steadfast commitment to modernizing the nation’s broadcast landscape.
Under the astute leadership of Dr. Ebuebu, the NBC has revitalized the DSO roadmap, charting a clear course toward an inclusive, high-definition digital era. EMCOAN recognizes the immense effort required to coordinate this transition and praises the DG for prioritizing structural sustainability.

In his words, the NBC DG, Dr. Charles Ebuebu saitd “Our objective with the Digital Switch Over goes beyond changing signals; it is about building a sustainable creative economy. By driving viewer retention, top-tier local content will naturally attract higher advertising spend, injecting much-needed capital back into the broadcast and content production ecosystem’ he concluded.
