How Maltina celebrates family, culture, and togetherness at Ojude Oba Festival 2025

As dawn broke over the historic town of Ijebu Ode, the unmistakable rhythms of drums, vibrant parade of horses, and swathe of aso ofi and aso oke of the regberegbe signalled the beginning of the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival, a tradition that has united generations since 1882. At the heart of this iconic celebration was Maltina, Nigeria’s leading malt drink, reaffirming its deep-rooted connection to family, culture, and shared happiness.

It was a moment of great cultural pride, with Maltina as a sponsor and an active participant in one of Nigeria’s most cherished cultural festivals. Adding her signature charm to the event was Tomike Adeoye, Maltina’s brand ambassador, who lit up the festival grounds with her presence. Dressed in resplendent Yoruba attire, Tomike mingled with attendees, danced with cultural troupes, and brought Maltina’s joyful personality to life. Her energy perfectly reflected the brand’s promise of nourishment and togetherness.

Festival-goers were also treated to an immersive experience at the Maltina experience booth, a hub of excitement and celebration. From the entrancing steps of traditional dancers to the striking stilt walkers and evocative ewi poetry performances, every element reflected the richness of Yoruba culture. Visitors didn’t just enjoy refreshing servings of Maltina, they experienced a full celebration of identity, community, and joy. The brand also enriched its presence by partnering with Princess Olori Azeezat of the Iboriaran Moyegeso royal family, accompanying her and her household in their grand procession to honour the Awujale of Ijebuland.

Speaking at the event, Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing Communications, Nigerian Breweries Plc., remarked: “Maltina’s connection to Ojude Oba goes beyond sponsorship. It’s a living expression of what we stand for; family, legacy, and cultural pride. This year, in line with our theme ‘the happiness in our roots’, we are proud to have added meaning to a festival that already means so much to the Ijebu indigenes.”

As the curtains fall on another successful Ojude Oba Festival, Maltina remains committed to nurturing the bonds that bring us together, reminding everyone that true happiness lives in our roots and is best shared with family and community.
