Odumodublvck Celebrates Sold-Out Canadian Tour, Milestone Album Feat

By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

Odumodublvck, one of Africa’s most successful rappers, has reached new heights since his mainstream breakthrough two years ago.

On September 22, 2024, he made history with a sold-out show in Canada, marking the first headline concert of his ongoing tour. Celebrating this achievement, Odumodublvck shared a clip from the performance, captioning it, “If dem no hype, hype yourself” – a declaration of self-empowerment.

Interestingly, this post came just two days after Davido shared the same sentiment on his X account. Davido’s message was a response to his fans’ concerns that Nigerian media had overlooked his song “Unavailable” (feat. Musa Keys) receiving an RIAA Gold plaque. By sharing the quote, Davido reaffirmed his commitment to celebrating his accomplishments despite perceived media neglect.

Odumodublvck’s celebratory mood is well-deserved, given his recent BET Hip Hop Awards nomination for 2024.

Additionally, his 2023 album “Eziokwu” has achieved an impressive milestone – spending 50 weeks on Spotify Nigeria’s Top 10 Album Chart. This feat makes “Eziokwu” the only rapper-led album to reach this benchmark.

Notably, “Eziokwu” joins an elite group of albums that have surpassed 50 weeks on the chart, including Omah Lay’s “Boy Alone,” Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini,” Asake’s “Mr. Money With The Vibe” and “Work of Art,” and Davido’s “Timeless.” These accomplishments solidify Odumodublvck’s position as Nigeria’s leading Hip-Hop act.
