Nigerian singer Portable has sparked outrage after physically assaulting a pastor who was preaching outside his bar.
The incident occurred on September 9, 2024, while Portable was live on Instagram at his establishment in the Sango area of Ogun State.
He noticed the evangelist preaching nearby and became angry, confronting the man and insulting him for allegedly disturbing his customers.
Portable’s livestream captured the moment he walked towards the pastor, yelled at him, and slapped him. He was heard saying, “Why are you doing this? Are you crazy? Why are you coming to disgrace me in my bar?” before slapping the pastor.
He also complained that the pastor was spoiling his business and disturbing his customers.
The singer’s actions were met with widespread criticism on social media. Many users condemned his behavior saying it was unnecessary and calling for his arrest. Some users expressed disgust at Portable’s fans, who were laughing and praising him during the live video. Others criticized Portable’s behavior, saying he overreacted and that his actions were unacceptable.
