Kwankwaso Vows to Reduce APC’s Votes in Kano by 2027

By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has vowed to limit the ruling All Progressive Congress’s (APC) votes to less than 15,000 in Kano State by 2027.

While receiving NNPP delegates, Kwankwaso acknowledged the party’s hard work in the 2023 elections, which led to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) securing only 15,000 votes in Kano. He stated, “Now, it’s turn to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano by 2027.”

The Kano APC chairman, Abdullahi Abass, responded by advising Kwankwaso to focus on reclaiming his NNPP membership instead of making unrealistic claims. Abass said, “Our teeming supporters in the APC have no cause to worry about Kwankwaso who has been booted out of NNPP due to his cluelessness and self-centeredness.”

Abass further stated that Kwankwaso’s departure from the APC was due to his inability to align with the party’s progressive ideals, and his subsequent abandonment of the PDP was a result of his own ego and dominating behavior.
