Chidimma Adetshina, a contestant who faced arguments in the Miss South Africa competition, has joined the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant as the representative of Taraba State.
She was born in 2001 at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. Chidimma’s heritage is diverse, with her father from the Igbo community and her mother being a South African citizen of Mozambican origin.
There was a debate about her participation in Miss South Africa because of her nationality. This prompted an investigation by the South African Ministry of Home Affairs. Due to this, Chidimma withdrew from the competition and accepted an invitation to participate in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.
The organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant officially introduced Chidimma as Miss Taraba, contestant number 25, on their website. They welcomed her to the competition.
