In Benin City, a group of traditional leaders, known as Enigie and Ohen, who are loyal to the Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II, publicly endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming governorship election in Edo state.

They explained that their decision was motivated by a desire to protect the honor of the Benin Palace and the king.

The leader of the group, Festus Osagiede, emphasized that they are committed to supporting the APC candidate because they believe it is essential to uphold the palace’s authority and traditions.

He criticized Governor Godwin Obaseki for allegedly using some Enigie to disrespect the palace and stated that they will not allow anyone to ridicule the palace.

Osagiede expressed confidence in the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, stating the legendary strength of ‘Akpakomiza’ and assured that he will fight for the interests of the Benin people.
