Maleek Berry, a popular Afrobeats singer and producer, shared a fascinating story about his early days as an artist and his encounter with Davido.
In an interview on the ’90s Baby podcast, Maleek recalled how he met Davido through social media and took him to a London studio to record music.
At the time, Davido was relatively unknown and had only a few thousand views on YouTube.
What surprised Maleek was how down-to-earth and humble Davido was despite coming from a wealthy family. He remembered being surprised when he visited Davido’s father’s mansion, realizing that his friend came from a much more wealthy background than he had initially thought.
Maleek also credited Davido with introducing him to Wizkid, another prominent artist, years later. He reflected on how their friendship and collaboration had helped shape his music career.
