Female student killed and buried in Lagos.

A devastating incident has affected the community of Ikorodu in Ogun State, where a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Christiana Idowu, was kidnapped and murdered.

Her disappearance occurred on August 3 while she was going to her industrial training at the University of Lagos in Yaba.

Her family received a call from the kidnappers who used Christiana’s WhatsApp account to send photos of her in captivity and demanded a ransom of N3million.

Despite the family’s efforts to raise the demanded amount, they could only manage to transfer N350,000, which the kidnappers accepted. The sum of 100k was withdrawn by the kidnappers through a betting account.

The investigation that followed revealed suspicious transactions involving Christiana’s account and a suspect who had a personal connection with her on social media platforms like Instagram.

The suspect’s phone activities were tracked, leading law enforcement to his parents’ residence in Ikorodu, where he was arrested by personnel from the Nigerian Army’s 174 Battalion.

Evidences, including Christiana’s phone, was found in his possession, and email correspondence on his phone linked him to the crime. The suspect has reportedly confessed to the evil act and further allegations have surfaced, suggesting a pattern of similar crimes in the past. He is said to have killed his sister and his ex girlfriend in the past and buried them in his family’s house.

The community is now mourning the loss of Christiana. Her family and the people online are seeking justice for her brutal murder.
