Liquorose, a Nigerian dancer and former BBNaija star, has opened up about her past struggles to get into the reality show.
In a recent podcast interview, she shared that her initial attempts to participate in the show were unsuccessful, and she came close to giving up on her dream.
She said, “In 2020, I was backstage at the BBNaija opening show. I was dressed up and make up done, but I was not called. That really hurt me.”
Liquorose was initially rejected from the 2020 edition after testing positive for COVID-19, but she eventually made it to the show in 2021 after re-auditioning.
Despite feeling discouraged, she was convinced by a friend to try again. She said, “That experience was messing with me. So, the following year, I didn’t even want to audition but my friend convinced me to try. I just auditioned and forgot about it. I just went to check my spam one day and I discovered that I have been selected. It was crazy.”
Liquorose eventually became a popular contestant, finishing as the runner-up of Big Brother Naija Season 5 in 2021.
