Padi-Padi List

Padi-Padi List

Where art thou, trembling hands of justice?

The scales are broken,

The sword is rusted,

The gavel echoes lies in marble halls.

Heavily, the crown sits on the bench with that big fat nyansh.

We count the freed criminals like stars in a polluted sky.

Too many, too dim to name.

They wear white robes as priest.

And now live in the holy of holies.

The have-not fade in the shadows of forgotten cells.

Crushed with the gavel

Sliced by the sword

Tell me, how did we arrive here,

Where conscience is sold.

The land bleeds in silence,

Its wounds covered with flags of hypocrisy.

Voices that dare to cry are branded rebels,

For loving their country too loudly.

And so we whisper loudly in prayers into the night,

That one day, justice will awaken,

Unchained, unbought, unafraid;

To cleanse this bleeding nation of its sold soul.
