The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has just elected a Senior High Chief Tony Akiotu ( DAAR Communications/AIT)as the new Chairman to steer the affairs of the organisation in the next two years. The election took place on Wednesday April 8th, 2026 in Abuja during the BON 81st Annual General Meeting.
In a Press statement made available to us, the Director General of the,National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr. Charles Ebuebu, congratulates Senior High Chief Tony Akiotu, on his election as the new Chairman of the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON). The election took place during the organization’s biennial proceedings in Abuja on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The DG commends BON and its member stations for conducting a seamless and peaceful election during the 81st Annual General Meeting. He, specifically, noted the absence of hitches or rancor, praising all contestants for the high level of sportsmanship displayed throughout the process.
Looking ahead, Dr. Ebuebu noted that, the Commission is eager to collaborate with the newly elected executive team and the broader BON membership, especially, as we continue the process of digitizing our Broadcast ecosystem.
