Rema, a rising star in the Afrobeats scene, has been making waves with his hit single “Calm Down” and his recent album “HEIS”.
He believes he deserves to be mentioned alongside the likes of Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, who are considered the biggest names in Afrobeats.
Rema thinks some people might be hesitant to give him the recognition he deserves because of his rapid success, which didn’t follow the traditional path of taking years to build up.
In a recent interview, Rema shared his thoughts on his quick rise to fame, saying that he broke records and achieved success faster than expected.
He believes this has led some to question whether he has earned his place among the Afrobeats elite.
Rema respectfully acknowledges the contributions of the “OGs” (original gangsters) in the industry but confidently says that he belongs among them.
Rema’s second album, “HEIS”, was motivated by his desire to challenge the status quo and push boundaries in the music industry. He is determined to prove himself as a force to be recognized in Afrobeats.
With his talent, confidence, and drive, Rema is certainly making a strong case for himself as a leading figure in the genre.
