The police in Kogi State have arrested four people in connection with the murder of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old university student.
The main suspect, Jeremiah Paul, tricked Damilola into going with him to an uncompleted building, where he killed her and removed some of her body parts for ritual purposes.
Jeremiah Paul confessed to the crime, saying he met Damilola on Sunday and started chatting with her. He had already planned to use her for ritual purposes. He gave her a drink mixed with codeine, which made her weak, and then took her to an uncompleted building where he strangled her to death.
The police spokesperson, SP William Ovye Aya, warned students and parents to be careful about the company they keep, as some people may have ulterior motives. He also warned criminals in Kogi State that the police and other security agencies are watching them and will prosecute anyone involved in criminal activities.
The police will soon charge the four suspects to court once the investigation is complete.
Jeremiah Paul, the main suspect, said he met a native doctor on TikTok who told him to bring human parts for ritual purposes. He carried out the crime with the help of his friend from Kaduna State.
