The University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA), Lagos Branch, is thrilled to announce its upcoming General Meeting, a crucial gathering for all Ibadan-trained professionals residing in Lagos. This physical meeting is an indispensable opportunity for alumni to reconnect, contribute to the future direction of the association, and engage with pressing issues concerning both the Lagos Branch and the University of Ibadan at large. They encourage every alumnus to clear their calendar and make it a priority to attend this important event.
The Quarterly General Meeting is scheduled to hold on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. prompt. Alumni are advised to arrive on time to ensure a smooth flow of the agenda. The venue is the Lagos State Public Service Staff Club, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, a centrally located and comfortable venue to facilitate attendance from all corners of the city.
The agenda is packed with vital discussions and reports that directly impact the operations and initiatives of the branch. Key items include the Report from UIAA Lagos 2025 Annual Alumni Lecture and the progress of the UIAA Lagos Alumni Center Committee. Furthermore, there will be a Report on UIAA Headquarters, Ibadan, providing a necessary link to the main body and its ongoing projects.
Crucially, this General Meeting will kick off the Preparation for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election of a new Executive Committee (Exco) which is scheduled for later in the year. Other high-priority items on the agenda include discussions on the planned UIAA Lagos Inter-Hall Sports Competition in UI—a project aimed at boosting morale and engagement back at the University.
The meeting will also consider the Appointment of a member as Marketing and Strategic Consultant for UIAA Lagos, a move designed to enhance the visibility and impact of the branch. The financial health of the association will also be reviewed under Financial Reports/ Payment of Dues.
The UIAA Lagos Branch General Secretary, Alayande Stephen T., on behalf of the Exco in his own submission said ” On behalf of my Chairman and the EXCOs I urge every Lagos-based alumnus to prioritize this gathering. Your presence, insights, and financial commitment through the payment of dues are critical to the continued vibrancy and success of the UIAA Lagos Branch. In a strong demonstration of the association’s commitment to the well-being of its members, the meeting will feature an important health component. Free Medical tests and a Health talk will be available at the venue. This value-added initiative ensures that attendees not only contribute to the association’s progress but also gain personal benefits through wellness checks and important health education.
