CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale Takes Over as Lagos Police Commissioner

CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale, psc+, mnips, has taken the reins as the 40th Commissioner of Police at the Lagos State Command, succeeding CP Adegoke Fayoade, mni, who has been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police and reassigned to AIG Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, CP Ishola brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has since held various key positions, including Unit Commander, Divisional Police Officer, and Area Commander.

He has also attended prestigious training programs, such as the Tactical Leadership and Command Course at Police Staff College Jos and the Strategic Leadership and Command Course at National Institute of Police Studies Abuja.

His experience in handling pressure situations, such as the OPC Idi Araba and Abule Egba crises, has earned him a reputation as a tactical leader with in-depth knowledge of Lagos’ unique security landscape.

As CP Ishola begins his tenure, he is committed to maintaining law and order, fostering community trust, and enhancing the safety of Lagos State. The people of Lagos are encouraged to extend their full support and cooperation to him.

On a personal note, CP Ishola is happily married with three children and a grandchild.
