Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Hon. Oladele Bankole-Balogun as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Inland Revenue Service. This announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor Esq.
According to Umar Ikhilor Esq, Hon. Bankole-Balogun brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in various sectors, including law, business, and politics. Born in 1961, he hails from the illustrious family of Late Chief Bankole Balogun of Igarra Akoko-Edo, Edo State. His educational background is impressive, with a BSc in Political Science from the University of Ibadan, an LLB in Law from the University of London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, Store Street, London.
Professionally, Hon. Bankole-Balogun has held various positions, including Cadbury Nigeria Plc (1985 to 1989), Pfizer UK (1989 to 1994, Alphabet Group UK where he served as Chairman of Alphabet House Ltd, Allen Angus Resources Ltd where he was a Director/Board Member, Barking and Havering Hospital Trust where he chaired the Appointments Board, Oladele Bankole-Balogun & Co. where he was the Principal Partner, Public Complaints Commission where he served as a Federal Commissioner from 2012 to 2015, representing Edo State.
In the political sphere, Hon. Bankole-Balogun has been an aspirant and candidate for the House of Representatives Elections in Akoko Edo Federal Constituency. He was also a member of the APC Campaign Council for the 2024 Governorship elections in Edo State.
Other members appointed to the board include, Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien representing Edo Central, Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo representing Edo North and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo representing Edo South.
