The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, granted Alhaji Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi state, 500 million naira bail with two sureties in the like sum.
Justice Emeka Nwite in the ruling, stated that the sureties must be owners of landed properties in Abuja.
The sureties were not only asked to tender the title document of the properties, they were also ordered by Justice Nwite to swear to an affidavit of means.
The defendants and the sureties were also asked by the court to submit their recent passport photographs. The governor was ordered to submit his international passport and to take permission before traveling outside the country.
The court ordered that the defendant remains at Kuje prison until the completion of the bail conditions.
The commencement of a full blown hearing was slated for February 24 and 28.
