The music world is buzzing with excitement as the 17th Headies Awards prepares to crown the best in Nigerian music tonight, Sunday, April 27, 2025.
The ceremony, which honors outstanding talent across various genres, including Afrobeats, R&B, Hip-Hop, and more, will take place at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
The Next Rated category is particularly competitive, with talented artists Qing Madi, Shallipopi, OdumoduBlvck, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi vying for the top spot, which comes with a brand new SUV. This category recognizes emerging artists who are making waves in the industry.
The Headies Awards, formerly known as the Hip Hop Awards, will feature live performances and the recognition of exceptional artists in categories such as Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and more. The event will be broadcast live on HIP Tv (Channel 324 / GOtv 22) and streamed on YouTube.
Notably, the Headies will hold two ceremonies in Nigeria in 2025, having previously taken place in Atlanta, United States, in 2022 and 2023. After skipping 2024, the awards are set to make a big impact this year.
