Huawei, a global technology leader, has presented samples of its groundbreaking HUAWEI Mate XT smartphone to Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group and Konga Group.
The Mate XT, launched in September, earned the title of Best Smartphone globally and garnered over 8 million preorders. Despite its official pricing starting at $2,800, units have resold for up to $20,000 on the Chinese black market.
Huawei officials presented three units of the Mate XT to Mr. Ekeh at the Zinox Group Corporate Headquarters in Lagos, recognizing his pioneering role in Nigeria’s tech sector and Africa’s digital transformation.
Mr. Ekeh, a Microsoft Global Partner Advisor and Forbes’ Best of Africa’s Leading Tech Icon, expressed gratitude for being the first Nigerian to experience the device.
“The Mate XT is a testament to God’s definition of a new lifestyle,” Mr. Ekeh said. “With this remarkable innovation, I feel inspired to strive for longevity, embracing the possibilities technology brings.”
The HUAWEI Mate XT features:
– Inverse dual-hinge design with 10.2-inch triple-screen foldable display
– 6.4-inch OLED display when collapsed
– 16GB RAM and storage options from 256GB to 1TB
– Huawei’s in-house Kylin chips and AI assistant
– 5,600mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging
Huawei’s partnership with TD Africa will make the Mate XT available in Nigeria, with shoppers able to purchase it on Konga, Nigeria’s leading e-commerce platform.
