The organisers of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2023 edition of its annual awards ceremony will be held again in Morocco.
According to a statement on Tuesday, CAF also announced that the award ceremony will hold on December 11.
The continental football governing body added that the time and host city will be communicated in due course.
“The prestigious CAF Awards will make a welcome return on 11 December 2023 in Morocco to celebrate the stars of African football.
“CAF will communicate time and host city in due course,” the statement reads.
The awards will recognise the standout performers from club and country over the past year, with the highlight being the crowning of the CAF African Player of the Year in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Sadio Mane is the reigning men’s player of the year while Asisat Oshoala, Super Falcons forward, holds the women’s player of the year gong.
Mane and Oshoala will face stiff competition from some of the continent’s brightest stars who have shone in the last 12 months.
CAF had held the 2022 award ceremony in Morocco after failing to stage the event in 2021
