Nigerian music stars shined bright at the 2025 Africa Arts Entertainments Awards, AAEA.
The winners’ list was dominated by Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Tems, Darkoo, Ayra Starr, and others. Multiple categories were swept by Nigerian artists at this year’s AAEA Music Awards, as announced by the AAEA on its official page.
Some notable winners include Wizkid’s ‘Piece of My Heart’ featuring Brent Faiyaz, which took home Best Afro-R&B. Davido and Chris Brown’s collaboration ‘Hmm’ won Best Global Collaboration. Asake’s ‘MMS’ featuring Wizkid claimed Best Afro-Native. Darkoo’s hit single ‘Favourite Girl’ earned her Best Diasporan Act.
Other top winners include Burna Boy as Overall Male Artist in Africa, Tyla as Overall Female Artist of the year and Best Female Artist, Southern Africa, and Tems as Best Global African Female artiste. OdumoduBlvck won Best Rapper in West Africa, while Seyi Vibez won Best Male Artist, West Africa, and Ayra Starr won Best Female Artist, West Africa.
The AAEA awards celebrate the accomplishments of music artists across Africa.
