Petrol Price Drops to N965 Per Litre in Abuja.

By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

The pump price of petrol has been reduced by NNPC Limited at its retail outlets in Abuja. It was reduced from N1030 to N965 per litre.

Several people who have visited the retail outlets in the Central Area and Nyanya suburb have made it known that the new rates are now effective.

This is the national oil company’s second price reduction in just two weeks, after dropping from N1,060 to N1,030 per litre, amidst increasing competition from Dangote Refinery. Motorists are pleased with the adjustment and are optimistic about potential future price cuts.

Mr. Adamu Shuaibu, a commercial driver working on the Nyanya-Zuba route, said, “I noticed the new price yesterday. The government is trying, but they should do more. The price should return to N530 per litre so that the cost of other goods can decrease too.”

Also, Mr. Taofeek Adetunji, a private car owner, appreciated the reduction. He said,“When the President promised his reforms would yield results, many doubted him. But now you can see it. We are optimistic that prices will keep dropping. Petrol is vital to the economy, and this reduction will soon reflect in the cost of goods and services.”

The drivers appealed to the Federal Government to continue working towards making petrol more affordable.
