You dey market

By Bonn Columbus Legogie

You dey market

or na market dey us? My last best fish customer don turn vegetarian,

e say I too selfish with my fish slicing and truth be say na high price strangle the price sotay icefish this days nor dey get ice.

Na cook people dey cook banana these days, price don pill the fruit feel banana get

Even big man dey renounce the title when dem hear my price.

What to do? Make we sell cheap or make our sink ship?

Or make we revolt even though nor be our vote make dem hold us for throat?

If nor be piken when dey my back, I for back house tey tey

Me nor get money to treat ulcer if not I for dey gate dey hail yes sir.

I wish na big dream all this suffering be

That we go wake up to the days when wike and Ameachi still dey stroll together like brothers for rivers

To the time Oshiomhole still dey loyal to labour and James ibori just become Governor.

Price high then but we still dey cheat am with pride.
