Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, has made an appeal to President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to address the persistent fuel scarcity affecting the nation.
Oyintiloye emphasized that the situation has become unbearable for Nigerians who are already struggling with numerous challenges. He also urged the President to intervene to bring an end to the suffering.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo, the APC chieftain expressed concern that the removal of the fuel subsidy had not led to improved availability but instead, the situation has worsened with Nigerians facing extreme hardship to obtain fuel at high prices.
He called on President Tinubu to check the activities of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to identify the root cause of the persistent scarcity.
Oyintiloye highlighted the sad situation where Nigerians are forced to spend nights at filling stations in search of fuel, only to be met with either unavailability or high prices. He stressed that the President’s intervention is important to manage the suffering of the masses. He noted that revamping the nation’s four refineries could be a lasting solution to the fuel scarcity crisis.
