The popular ‘Gwo Gwo gwo Ngwo’ singer, Mike Ejeagha, has passed away.
Nigerian skit maker Brain Jotter paid tribute to the late veteran musician Mike ‘Gentleman’ Ejeagha, who passed away on Friday night after battling prostate cancer.
In an emotional Instagram post, Brain Jotter shared a video clip of their encounter earlier this year in Enugu, where he visited Ejeagha with a gift of N2 million.
“39years ago, he made magic (Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo song). 39years later, we danced to it again. Now, he rests, but his melody lives forever. Rest in peace, legend,” he captioned the post.
Ejeagha’s 1983 hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” gained renewed popularity after Brain Jotter used it in a dance challenge last year. The dance challenge went viral with millions of views and comments on social media.
