Ministerial Appointment: El-Rufai Goes Tough, Knocks His Critics

The former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has sent a warning to those who are constantly preoccupied with thoughts about him.

El-Rufai warned them to forget about him and suggested a lyric of a song they should focus on.

The former governor stated this on Wednesday via Twitter.

Recall that the Senate had refused to confirm the nomination of El-Rufai.

According to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio further security checks had to be conducted.

However, reports from Premium Times claimed that El-Rufai told President Bola Tinubu at a meeting that he was no longer interested in becoming a minister but would continue to contribute his quota to the development of Nigeria as a private citizen.

The publication also said that the former governor suggested a new ministerial nominee Jafaru Ibrahim Sani for Kaduna State, saying the President would find him very useful and resourceful.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, El-Rufai, who has allegedly left the country, urged those preoccupied with him to forget about him.

He wrote, “WEDNESDAY WISDOM: “You Make Your Own Heaven and Hell Right Here on Earth” by The Undisputed Truth is one of my all-time favorites from our Barewa College days. Enjoy the music and reflect on the lyrics on this beautiful Wednesday morning.

“It appears that I permanently occupy the brains of some people even while I am chilling in my little corner. To these souls, I say – calm down, forget about @elrufai and enjoy the music if you can.”
