MTN Nigeria has stated its dedication to grassroots sports development by inaugurating the first cohort of Team MTN, comprising 20 exceptional athletes, into the Making of Champions Athletics Academy.
This induction marks a significant milestone in the company’s partnership with MoC, providing world-class training facilities, expert coaching, and comprehensive development programs to enhance the athletes’ skills and prepare them for international competitions.
The MTN Champs initiative, modeled after Jamaica’s successful secondary championships, aims to identify and take care of Nigeria’s future Olympic champions, promoting athletic excellence and building interest in athletics nationwide.
The program has already yielded notable successes. This includes representation at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, with eight MTN CHAMPS Ambassadors competing in various events.
By investing in this initiative, MTN shows its commitment to empowering young athletes, advancing sports development, and inspiring future generations.
