Olajumoke David, Chief Information and Public Relations Officer – National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Abuja, to our correspondent, it laid emphasis on the partnership and collaboration between NBTI & Aerosky Technologies Limited.

In a bold stride toward technological self-reliance and national prosperity, the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), under the visionary leadership of Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, has sealed a transformative partnership with Aerosky Technologies Limited to domesticate drone manufacturing and deployment across strategic sectors of the Nigerian economy.

This landmark collaboration, fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, exemplifies the President’s unwavering commitment to positioning Nigeria as a global leader in innovation, technology, and local content development. It also reaffirms Mr. President’s far-sighted decision in appointing Dr. Raji — a consummate professional and technology champion — as Director-General/CEO of NBTI in January 2025.

Under this partnership, NBTI and Aerosky Technologies are set to catalyze a thriving drone ecosystem that will deepen indigenous manufacturing capabilities, create high-value jobs, stimulate technology transfer, and unlock new revenue streams for the nation.

Speaking at the high-level engagement, Mr. Michael Ajipe, Managing Director of Aerosky Technologies, emphasized the company’s commitment to building scalable UAV solutions tailored to Nigeria’s unique needs in agriculture, security, infrastructure, and beyond. With a fully acquired facility in Ondo State and strategic global collaborations, Aerosky is poised to move from local assembly to full production and cutting-edge R&D.

Dr. Raji, in his remarks, hailed this initiative as a watershed moment for Nigeria’s technological advancement, proudly noting that the country now possesses the maturity and expertise to manufacture sophisticated technologies locally. “This partnership is a direct response to President Tinubu’s call for homegrown innovation, industrial growth, and national self-reliance. It is the embodiment of the Renewed Hope Agenda in action,” he declared.

He further announced that the partnership framework includes joint licensing support, regulatory facilitation with critical agencies such as the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), and a pioneering revenue-sharing model that benefits the government, entrepreneurs, and the broader economy.

Highlighting NBTI’s national reach and incubation infrastructure, Dr. Raji assured that NBTI will provide an enabling environment to nurture Aerosky’s growth, while also integrating local entrepreneurs into the drone value chain through raw material supply and embedded systems production — further strengthening Nigeria’s domestic technology ecosystem.

“With drone technology now a critical driver for security, agriculture, mining, and infrastructure protection, this collaboration is not just a milestone — it is a strategic national investment in our collective future,” Dr. Raji affirmed. He lauded President Tinubu’s bold leadership and enduring legacy in championing policies that empower Nigerian innovators to take their rightful place on the global stage.

In closing, Dr. Raji reiterated his unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and value-driven partnerships, vowing that under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope leadership, NBTI will continue to serve as Nigeria’s premier technology warehouse, driving transformative innovations for the prosperity of all Nigerians.

Together, we are building a new Nigeria — a nation powered by innovation, sustained by local enterprise, and destined for greatness under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
