Goldberg, the premium lager known for its deep-rooted connection to tradition, made a resounding impact at Ojude Oba 2025 with a grand celebration of Yoruba identity, honour, and heritage. Held annually in Ijebu Ode—on the third day after the Eid celebration—the iconic festival brought together thousands of people, from the elegantly dressed regberegbe age-grade groups to cultural icons, horse-riding families, and proud indigenes decked in adire, damask, and richly embroidered aso-oke. It was a day of music, prayers, fashion, pageantry, and tradition — everything that makes Ojude Oba one of Nigeria’s most unique cultural showcases.
This year, Goldberg amplified its presence through a royal collaboration with Prince Adedoyin of the Balogun Alatishe family. Riding in with a regal procession on horseback, the prince’s entrance paid tribute to the courage and royalty of his lineage. In a moment rich with symbolism, Goldberg welcomed him and his family with chilled bottles of its premium lager, offering a toast to tradition and respect.
At the heart of the festival grounds, Goldberg’s activation area became a cultural hotspot. The air was alive with the rhythmic sounds of Kakaaki and his talking drums, drawing festival goers into a space filled with heritage, and authentic Yoruba expression.
Speaking on the brand’s presence at the festival, Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing Communications, Nigerian Breweries Plc. shared, “Ojude Oba is a reflection of our identity as a people; a celebration of heritage, pride, and unity. To be associated with such a culturally rich and iconic event is a moment of immense pride for us at Goldberg. At the heart of everything we do is the belief that our culture is the gold standard, one worth celebrating, preserving, and proudly sharing with the world. We are proud to stand with the Yoruba people in upholding traditions that continue to inspire generations.“
As the day’s traditional festivities came to a close, the energy flowed effortlessly into the Goldberg Ojude Oba Beer Village for the Afterparty. Guests were treated to electrifying live performances by Nigerian music legend 9ice and crowd favourite Segun Johnson, both of whom brought a fresh, contemporary energy to a day rooted in rich heritage.
Among the most talked-about moments was the stylish appearance of Farouq Oreagba, whose bold and charismatic look captured the evolving face of Yoruba pride—vibrant, expressive, and deeply rooted.
Through it all, Goldberg stood proudly at the heart of the Ojude Oba celebration, honouring tradition while embracing the pulse of today’s culture. With every toast, every rhythm, and every shared moment, the brand reaffirmed its place not just as a premium lager, but as a proud supporter of Yoruba pride and rich culture.
