Jimmy Odukoya, Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, shares a remarkable story about his dreadlocks.
After his father passed away, he sought divine guidance on his appearance before resuming pastoral duties. He says, “One of the things I asked the Lord before I came back was whether I should cut my hair or not and He told me not to cut my hair.” To confirm, he asked his sister to pray about it, and she received the same message.
A remarkable encounter with a Zimbabwean woman reveals the reason behind his uncut hair. She traveled to Nigeria to attend his service and shared a vision she had in 2016, where she saw Odukoya with his hair, speaking to her and giving her instructions.
She said, “People think that I’m crazy when I tell them I’m coming to Nigeria for the next three to four weeks. In 2016, I was in New York when I had a vision that felt so real.” The woman’s life took a dramatic turn after the vision, and she eventually found Odukoya’s sermons on YouTube.
Odukoya believes God instructed him to keep his hair to save a life. He said, “God who sees and hears, knows at some point in February 2025, one of His children will have to see a man preaching. Guess what? I would have cut it if he didn’t ask me to keep the hair. God was making me keep my hair to save a life.”
