Following the numerous rumors concerning the cause of her death, the family of late gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold, finally speak up.
It was revealed to the Splash9ja.org team that she died on Monday August 12, 2024 at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, Oyo State. Her death was unexpected and this led to several responses on social media.
News went round that she died while undergoing fibroid surgery but, her brother, Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo said it was a rumor. He went ahead to warn people to verify information properly before spreading.
Pastor Ajayi stated in a trending video that according to the death certificate from the hospital, Aduke died of cervical cancer.
“Whoever is saying what is not should stop it, our daughter was ill, she had cervical cancer, she was taken to UCH in Ibadan and unfortunately, she died. The information spreading around is false”-He said.
The news of her death was shared on Monday by fellow gospel artiste Esther Igbeke on social media, who posted a tribute with aduke gold’s picture and the caption: “A general has fallen. RIP.”
Aduke Gold’s death comes few months after prominent gospel singer, Egbin Orun, who died on April 28, 2024.

Aduke Gold whose real name is Ajayi Aduke Morounkola is a Nigerian Gospel singer was born in Ilesha Osun State, and raised in Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos, she was from a polygamous family.
She was the 11th child of her late parents, Mr and Mrs Ajayi. Aduke Gold rose to stardom after her live performance at the first remembrance of the late gospel artiste, Baba Ara.
Professionally, she started music in 2004. One of her famous track “Nitori Ogo” which she released in 2021 also brought her into limelight.
