2023: All Roads Lead To Lagos As EMCOAN Set To Hold 2nd Edition Of NEMCEA

Thousands of media practitioners and other stakeholders are set to gather in the beautiful state of Lagos for the second edition of the annual Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA).

The 2023 NEMCEA which is organized by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN), an umbrella body of radio, TV and online content providers, will hold this year’s edition from August 22-24, 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

A glance through the press statement of the EMCOAN obtained by SPLASH9JA shows that the theme for this year’s event tagged “Revitalizing Traditional Broadcast Media in Nigeria” will also explore roles of industry stakeholders like content producers, advertisers, broadcast media, and regulators among others. Registration has opened for participants, exhibitors and buyers at www.nemcea.com/register while submission of entries (radio, TV & online content only) for the various award categories is open at www.nemcea.com/awards.

Meanwhile, entries for the various award categories would close on July 15, 2023, as registration for participation and sponsorship continues.

Speaking, the President of EMCOAN, Mrs. Jibe Ologeh, said, “We aim to build on the successes of NEMCEA 2022 and do more in 2023 including strengthening strategic relationship with stakeholders, developing the Nigeria Content Market Industry, bridging the gap that affects our businesses and finding solutions amongst many other projections.”

Corroborating, Stephen Alayande, Project Director, NEMCEA 2023, said: “We are propelled to further engage industry stakeholders and continuously bring to the fore discourse, perspectives and salient issues that are of paramount concerns to the African content economy. The sponsors, partners, speakers, panelists, and award nominees will be made public during the media unveil/world press conference.”

However, this online medium recalls that EMCOAN had held the maiden edition of NEMCEA, which took place in August 2022 and had in attendance the creme de la creme of the industry including content regulators, content aggregators, local and international exhibitors, as well as other key players in content production and marketing. It afforded stakeholders first hand opportunity to interact and exchange values.
