Tems, Nigerian Afrobeats star, revealed her career backup plans in a fan interaction on X.
When asked what she would be doing if music had not worked out, she said, “I might have been an accountant or a mathematics teacher.”
This is not the first time Tems has spoken about her pre-music career. Before becoming a global star, she worked as a digital marketer, a job she left in January 2018 to focus on her music ambitions.
Tems’ music journey took off with the release of her debut single, “Mr Rebel,” in July 2018. However, it was her feature on Wizkid’s 2020 hit “Essence” that moved her to international fame. The song’s remix, featuring Justin Bieber, reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
