Chidimma Adetshina, the current Miss Universe Nigeria, has spoken out about why she decided to delete her Twitter account.
She was facing a lot of negative comments and backlash on social media, which was affecting her mental health. She found it overwhelming and toxic, so she chose to leave the platform.
In an interview, she explained that she would spend too much time reading comments which was taking a toll on her.
Although she appreciates the support from her fans, she is aware that showing public support for her can lead to backlash for them as well.
Chidimma has faced criticism in the past, including allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother. She was also disapproved when she entered the Miss South Africa pageant and again when she won the Miss Universe Nigeria title. Some people felt that she was only given the title out of sympathy.
Despite the challenges, Chidimma is moving forward and focusing on her reign as Miss Universe Nigeria. She is being cautious about her social media presence and limiting her interactions to protect her mental well being.
