Kate Henshaw Criticizes Nigeria’s Traffic Laws

By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

Kate Henshaw, a well-known Nigerian actress and activist, has spoken out about the problems with traffic laws and how pedestrians are treated in Nigeria.

She feels that Nigerians can learn from other countries where things are more organized and respectful.

Kate believes that in Nigeria, pedestrians are not treated with the same respect as drivers, and this is not how it should be. She points out that the Nigerian Highway Code says pedestrians have the right of way at crosswalks, but in reality, this is not true. She says that in other countries, pedestrians are respected and allowed to cross the road safely.

Kate is worried about how traffic is managed in Nigeria and how pedestrians are not kept safe. She remembers a time when she was in Canada and the traffic lights stopped working but the drivers were patient and took turns going through the intersection without any problems. She wonders why things can’t be like that in Nigeria, where people seem to behave anyhow on the road.

Kate thinks that Nigerians need to learn to be more orderly and respectful of each other especially when it comes to traffic and pedestrians. She believes that this would make the country a better place to live.
