Lands once fenced with doubts to ever rise,
Voices once mocked into silence, MUMU.
Now, thunders in roaring lights,
Shakes pillars to make music out of defiance.
The gospel is one and simple to say,
Yet a bitter pill for the comfortable to swallow.
Where are their children, the Aje-butters?
How they love to spend the summer in Amerika!
This sacred horn was blown in Nepal and behold; it is Up NEPA!
They touched Madagascar, and the winds hummed FREEDOM.
Even Cameroon trembles in its sleep,
For the old man’s dreams are haunted by the drums.
Tanzania feels the heat,
As Tarzans in their thousands left the jungle.
And I know a dawn will come fiercely,
When this same sumptuous breakfast is served on every table,
Even this table of famished souls, the so-called happiest people.
May the eyes that see, truly see.
May the ears that hear, truly listen.
For coconut is hard-backed, tough to crack,
But its sweetness is the sacred essence that lies within.
