Don Jazzy Almost Quit Music After Mo’Hits Split

Nigerian music producer and executive, Don Jazzy has revealed that he came close to ending his music career and relocating abroad after the sudden end of Mo’Hits, the record label he co-founded with D’banj, in 2012.

This was caused by the disagreements between the two music stars, and it left Don Jazzy considering quitting the industry.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, he made it known that it was encouragements from friends that made him choose to stay and start afresh, giving birth to Mavin Records.

Mavin Records went on to become a hub for talented artists, including former Mo’Hits signees and new stars. The label currently boasts of an impressive lineup, featuring Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, and other notable artists.

Don Jazzy said, “When Mo’Hits ended, I thought that was it. I almost packed up to move abroad. But friends encouraged me to stay and start again, and Mavin Records was born. Since then, I’ve learned not to let anything break me.”
