Nigerian, actor Ibrahim Chatta is making waves online due to a report of his earnings that has been made public.
Veteran actor, Mustapha Bakare Otolo revealed that Ibrahim Chatta is currently the highest-paid actor, earning a fee of N5 million per movie appearance.
Otolo said that this high earning potential makes it difficult for veteran actors, who are earning between N250,000 to N300,000 per movie, to produce cinema movies.
He gave an example of Ibrahim Chatta’s recent appearance in his movie ‘Jigi’, shot in Ogbomoso.
He said, “If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he has been paid N5 million. That’s the amount he currently charges. He is the highest paid actor presently. So, my point is that he can do up to 20 jobs in a month. I brought him to my movie, ‘Jigi’ set in Ogbomoso recently. “You can’t compare him and other young actors to some of us that are being paid between N250,000 – N300,000 and appear in just one or two films in a month. So, that is the reason it’s difficult for some of us the veterans to produce cinema movies.”
