By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has disclosed that her life and her family’s are under threat due to recent incidents, and a fire that destroyed her office.

In an Instagram post, she addressed the threats and a recent police invitation regarding her comments on the death of singer Mohbad.

Iyabo Ojo was called by the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime Centre over a live video she posted concerning Mohbad’s death, where she called for certain individuals to present themselves for investigation. She emphasized that her actions were aimed at seeking justice, not accusing specific individuals, and that she worked through legal channels, including sending letters to relevant authorities via her NGO, Pinkies Foundation.

Iyabo Ojo revealed that she has faced attacks, hate campaigns, and violent threats since the 2023 general elections, with some individuals calling for her death and destruction of her livelihood.

A letter was said to have been delivered to her office days before her daughter’s wedding, warning her to “prepare for the worst” in the next three months.

Her office was recently destroyed by fire, which she believes may be connected to the threat letter.

Despite these challenges, Iyabo Ojo said that she has found comfort in her faith. She cited scriptures that say “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God will deliver me from them all.”
She thanked the police and supporters who have stood by her.

Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla, also shared the threat letter on her Instagram story and alleged that the fire might be a follow-up attack after the initial threat failed to prevent her wedding. The Lagos State Police Command has started an investigation into the incident.
